Istanbul is something that you can never describe to anyone. We will walk around the streets and markets. The Spice Market and Grand Bazaar are more than an experience, a boat cruise on the Bosphorus, we will visit Ephesus where Paul preached thousands of years ago and where they already had flushing toilets and water heating!
You can walk through the warm water of the calcium pools of Pamukkale. In Capadoccia you will see how hundreds of meters of lava ash have become compacted and created an indescribable unique landscape, with caves that people lived in. We will also be staying in a cave hotel.
Option: A hot air balloon flight that you will never, ever forget.
We will also experience traditional Turkish trades, is a paradise for shopping with the eye or with the wallet: Carpets, leather goods, jewelry, herbs and spices, Turkish Delight…..

Tour program in detail:
Day 1 – Departure from South Africa
(Dinner & breakfast on the plane)
Day 2 - Istanbul - Cappadocia – Arrival Day
(Dinner included)
After landing at Istanbul International, we will go directly to our domestic connecting flight to Kayseri (Cappadocia).
Our bus will be ready to take us from Kayseri Airport to our hotel to quickly drop off our bags. You will be a bit tired after the long flight, so we will then only do a half-day tour of Cappadocia. We will visit Ozkonak - one of the best preserved underground cities in Cappadocia. Then we will visit Uchisar Castle, the highest point of Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Day 3 - Cappadocia Tour with Goreme Open Air Museum

After breakfast, we will visit Goreme Open Air Museum, the Heart of Cappadocia. It is famous for frescoes dating back to the 10th century depicting scenes from the Bible and the life of Jesus.
We will then visit a pottery workshop to see how they make pottery. Then we will go to Love Valley - a hidden valley with picturesque formations. Next stop is Devrent Valley, also called Imagination Valley, where you can see natural rock formations that look like animals. Last stop is Three Beauties, three beautiful fairy chimneys with their hats, which are the symbol of Cappadocia. Overnight in Cappadocia.
Optional Hot Air Balloon Flight at Sunrise! The hot air balloon tour offers a minimum flight time of 1 hour. You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning, usually before sunrise, and driven to the take-off point. While you eat a light breakfast, you will watch the balloon inflate and then have a briefing explaining the basic rules and safety precautions for the balloon flight. Then it is time to climb into the basket for a highlight of your Turkey trip! Get ready to take hundreds of photos over the valleys of Cappadocia. After you land, there will be a small celebration with champagne and you will receive your flight certificate. You will be back at the hotel around 08:30, just in time for breakfast, and then for the day’s tour.​​​​

Day 4 - Cappadocia – Antalya

After breakfast, we will depart for a long day on the bus to the Mediterranean coast. On the way, we will stop to visit the Sultan Han caravanserai inn from the medieval era. Overnight in Antalya.

Day 5 - Antalya Old City Tour and Waterfalls
(Breakfast and Dinner included)
After breakfast, drive to Antalya Old City (Kaleiçi) where you will see Marina, Clock Tower, Hadrian's Gate, Broken Minaret and Hıdırlık Tower. Kaleici is a small historic part of Antalya’s modern city, also known as the Old City of Antalya. In history it was once the sprawling modern Roman town, then the Byzantine Empire, then Seljuks, and finally the Ottoman Turkish town. The Hadrian's Gate (or Hadrianus Gate or The Three Gates is a triumphal arch which was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian. Hıdırlık Tower is a landmark tower of tawny stone in Antalya, Turkey, where Kaleici meets
Karaalioglu Park. In the afternoon we will visit Duden Waterfalls. All the streams of the region aim at finding their way into the Mediterranean and they pour down the slopes of the Taurus, sometimes overland sometimes underground and reaching their destination, result in lovely waterfalls, of which there are more than twenty. After tour come back to hotel and rest of day is yours. Overnight in Antalya.
Day 6 – Antalya to Pamukkale

After breakfast, at 10:00 am. we depart for Pamukkale. Upon arrival in Pamukkale we will head to our hotel, with lovely thermal pools to enjoy. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 7 - Pamukkale - Turkish Village Sirince Tour
(Breakfast and Dinner included)
After breakfast we will visit the famous calcium terraces of Pamukkale (cotton castle) and the ruins of Hierapolis. Next stop is the colourful Sirince Village.
On the way we will visit one of the famous leather production centers of the region. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 8 - Kusadasi - Ephesus Tour
(Breakfast and dinner included)
Today's highlight is Ephesus, one of the best preserved ancient cities in the world. In Ephesus you will see Curates Street, famous Roman Baths, Celsius Library and the Grand Theater. Then we will visit the House of Mother Mary, where she spent her last years. In the afternoon we will visit a place, which is one of the oldest art forms of Turkey - a carpet weaving center. Overnight in Kusadasi.
Day 9 - Kusadası – Pergamon Tour - Çanakkale

We leave Kusadasi on our way to Çanakkale. We then stop for a tour of the acropolis of Pergamon - an ancient Greek city, which we reach by cable car. After Pergamon we drive to the hotel and overnight in Çanakkale.
Day 10 – Canakkale - Bursa - Istanbul
(Breakfast and dinner included)
Leave Çanakkale and drive to Bursa and visit the historic covered bazaar and Ulucami Mosque or the Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum. We will also visit a place that makes proper Turkish delight. After the Bursa visit, the bus departs for Istanbul. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 11 - Istanbul Day Tour

Today we discover Istanbul! HIPPODROME – the ancient hippodrome was the scene of chariot races.
SULTANAHMET IMPERIAL MOSQUE was built in the 16th century by the architect Mehmet, is known as the BLUE MOSQUE because of its interior decoration of blue Iznik tiles. HAGIA SOPHIA MOSQUE was formerly known as the Church of Divine Wisdom. Hagia Sophia is the largest surviving example of Byzantine architecture. For 1000 years it was the largest church in the world, decorated with beautiful 6th century gold mosaics. Today it is a mosque.
TOPKAPI PALACE is the great palace of the Ottoman sultans from the 15th to the 19th centuries, housing a magnificent collection of crystal, silver and Chinese porcelain, clothes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury.
The GRAND BASAR. This maze of streets and alleys houses over 4,000 shops with various areas: the goldsmiths' street, the carpet vendors, Turkish arts and crafts, such as hand-painted ceramic plates and copperware. Overnight in Istanbul.
Day 12 - Istanbul Day Tour
(Breakfast and lunch included)
Today we will see the Spice bazaar and go for a Bosphorus cruise. We will also visit one of the Roman underground reservoirs. The Basilica Cistern is the largest of several hundred ancient cisterns that lie beneath the city of Istanbul. It is extremely well preserved and has a contemporary twist with statues and colourful lighting.
Day 13 - Istanbul - End of tour

After breakfast, the rest of the morning and early afternoon is free time, until we go to the airport in the late afternoon for our return flight.
Day 14 - Arrive back in Johannesburg

After breakfast - extended day tour to experience the many wonders of Cappadocia. We have an optional hot air balloon ride very early in the morning, weather permitting.

​Day 4
After breakfast, depart from Cappadocia to head towards the Mediterranean, to visit Antalya.

Antalya tour.

Day 6
Antalya to Pamukkale and visit the calcium mountain and historical area.

​Day 7
Depart from Pamukkale after breakfast and visit Seringe Village. Sleep in Kusadasi.

Day 8
After breakfast we visit the centuries-old Ephesus and the house of Mary. Dinner and sleep again in Kusadasi.

Day 9
After breakfast - from Kusadasi to Çanakkale, with a short tour of Pergamon. Dinner and overnight in Çanakkale.

Day 10
After breakfast - from Çanakkale we visit Bursa on the way to Istanbul.

Day 11
After breakfast we go on a tour of Istanbul - Topkapi Palace, Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar.

Day 12
