Marokko 

Ons besoek stede soos Marrakech, Rabat & Fes, asook die betowerende bloustad Chefchaouen.

Een van die avonture is ’n 4x4 roete deur die woestyn, tot by ’n oasis, waar ons die aand gaan spandeer in baie luukse Berber tente.  Met musiek en kos onder die sterre - alles ingesluit. 

Die volgende oggend verlaat ons die oasis woestyn-kamp, op die rug van kamele.

Volledige toerprogram:

Day 1: Depart from SA

 

Day 2: Marrakech

Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be met and taken to your riad. 

 

Day 3: Marrakech Guided City Tour

 After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and the famous Djemaa el-Fna, one of the center attractions of Marrakech. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the souk (market). 

 

Day 4: Marrakech - Tizi N’tichka Pass - Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura Oasis

With a start in Marrakech from Riad Kniza, we’ll drive to Ouarzazate through the dramatic Tizi ’n’ Tichka pass (2260m), over the High Atlas Mountains, appreciating the beauty of the landscape on the twisted roads through the Berber villages. After the Tichka pass continue for lunch at Ait Ben Haddou, the famous Kasbah, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, now a UNESCO matrimonial historical site, we’ll take lunch by the Kasbah before continuing to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood” of Africa. 

 

Day 5: Skoura Oasis - Rose Valley - Dades Gorge - Tinerhir - Todra gorges - Erfoud -Merzouga

After breakfast in the hotel, drive along the Road of the thousand Kasbahs - the fascinating “sand castles” and through the valley Kalaat Mgouna, “the rose city” known for roses and its annual festival during the roses harvest in May we’ll then continue to the Dades Gorge. to see the amazing rock formation “the monkey toes”, and the still-standing 19th century Kasbah of Ait Yul. Leaving the Dades valley towards Tinrghir and the Todra valley you’ll see the panoramic views of the old mud Berber villages overlooking the valley. Arriving at the Gorge you’ll walk under the 300m high red cliff, where many rock-climbers come to enjoy their preferred sport. Continuing our trip to Merzouga where you will relax at the hotel.

 

Day 6: Sahara Desert and the region

Most of the day will be spent relaxing at the hotel or exploring the small but interesting desert town. In the afternoon, you will head off in some 4-wheel drive vehicles across the barren land to the majestic Sahara sand dunes. You will set off by 4x4 out to the oasis where you will spend the night in Berber tents (Dinner is included). 


Day 7: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Ziz Valley - Ifrane - Fes (Full day drive)

Early in the morning, your camel man will wake you up to watch what well may be the best sunrise of your life. You’ll peacefully camel-trek back to the village of Merzouga. Over the dunes, you couldn’t fail to appreciate the unique beauty of the spectacular Erg Chebbi sand dunes - changing with the light as the day progresses. After breakfast in your riad, you will start travelling via the Rissani, Erfoud and Ziz Valley. You will enjoy the fascinating landscape along the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved through volcanic rock. Then continue onto the Middle Atlas Mountains passing Ifrane and Azrou. Forested cedar hillsides where colony of monkeys known as Barbary apes will keep you amused. 

 

Day 8: Fes - Guided tour

 After breakfast you will begin our guided tour of the Fes medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch you may choose to eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. 

After lunch you will have time to explore, before returning to your hotel for the evening. 

 

Day 9: Fes - Chefchaouen

 After breakfast, direct transfer to the Blue town of Chefchaouen which nestles in the hollow of the two mountains - Ech-Chaoua (The Horns) - from which it takes its name. Steep narrow streets with white and indigo limewashed buildings, small squares, ornate fountains and houses with elaborately decorated doorways and red tile roofs make this a delightful town. Enjoy the Medina with its atmospheric view over the Ech-Chaoua Mountains. 

 

Day 10: Chefchaouen - Rabat 

 After breakfast transfer to Rabat the capital of Morocco where you will enjoy a guided city tour of this Imperial city, during the morning. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

 

Day 11: Rabat - Marrakech

You have the morning free. Transfer to Marrakech by the afternoon.

 

Day 12: Marrakech

 Your trip will be coming to an end today. You will be escorted to the RAK airport in Marrakech where you’ll head back home with stories and memories of all the unforgettable moments you spent in Morocco.

 

Day 12: Back in SA

Na middagete het jy die opsie om ’n souk (mark) te besoek, of om self te gaan ontdek.

 

Dag 4: Marrakech - Tizi N’tichka Pass - Telouet - Ait Benhaddou - Ouarzazate - Skoura Oasis

 

Dag 5: Skoura Oasis - Rose Valley - Dades Gorge - Tinerhir - Todra gorges - Erfoud - Merzouga

 

Dag 6: Sahara Woestyn 

Oggend ontspan-tyd.  

Die Middag gaan ons met 4x4 voertuie deur die duine van die Shara ry, tot by ’n oasis, waar ons die aand slaap. 


Dag 7: Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Ziz Valley - Ifrane - Fes 

Oggend kameel safari.  

Dan dan ry ons deur Rissani, Erfoud en die Ziz Vallei. Dan deur die Atlas berge tot in Fes, waar ons slaap.

 

Dag 8: Fes 

Toer die oggend.

Middag selfontdek-tyd en slaap in Fes.

 

Dag 9: Fes - Chefchaouen

Vertrek na en slaap in Chefchaouen - Die blou stad.

 

Dag 10: Chefchaouen - Rabat  Vertrek na en slaap in Rabat.

Middag selfontdek-tyd.

 

Dag 11: Rabat - Marrakech

Oggend selfontdek-tyd.
