The mud and the sulphurous springs with an ideal temperature and mineralistic composition have been serving as rejunevating cut ten years off our ages, beautifying (not that any of the ladies need it) and therapeutic natural agents for thousands of years. We sail down-river along the antique city CAUNOS, which is especially famed with the Ionic temple-like tombs of the kings in Lycian style dating back to 7th century BC. Then its time for a swim break (weather permits) on the TURTLE BEACH which has been listed as one of the world’s best ten. Monuments decorating the Hippodrome are; the Obelisk of Theodosius, the Bronze Serpentine Column and the Column of Constantine. The church was the place in which rulers were crowned, and it was also the biggest operational cathedral in the city throughout the Byzantine period. As well as a royal residence, the palace was a setting for state occasions and royal entertainments. It is now a museum and as such a major tourist attraction. It also contains exquisite collection of crystal, silver, and Chinese porcelain, robes worn by the sultans and their families, the famous jewels of the Imperial Treasury, miniatures and important relics of the Muslim world, including Muhammed's cloak and sword.
